I still remember the days when Mak would buy me cheap cloth a.k.a kain, so that I can practice making things. For instance, this thick and heavy skirt only costed her RM 3. Thus, she bought them in two colours, mint green and this lavender colour.
RM 6 and I got myself two skirts ! Can you believe that ?

The normal price would be RM15++ per meter but this one was the last 3 meters and they reduced the price to RM 1 per meter. God I love how this whole reducing price system work ! Please sell more. Please please please

Besides, I would only need 3 meters to make a complete dress and I'm off with my machine.
#theperksofbeingsmall *laugh at people who have been calling me small *shove their mouth with the reduced price of kain I bought

There were times too when Mak just gave me an outdated pattern of kain (which she got for free) and let me make anything
Muahaha! Bow before me, peasants. For I am the lord of kain.

It was fun though. I made pants, more skirts and more jubah/dresses. Some of the kain, with the ugly pattern which I know I won't wear to classes, were transformed into baju kelawar hahaha. Um yeaa'aah! Extra baju kelawar !

However, only recently, she had started buying me REAL kain and I instantly knew that she's finally given me the chance to roam free... I can finally inhale the air of independence... *flying out of my cage, browsing for more kain online

It was hard before. With her eyes watching every steps I took, "No, no. You should make the chest a lil bit wider," or "That's not how you handle the machine," and more 'tauke-tauke' kinda bossy nag. However, things are different now. HAHAHA. I can make anything I want.

So that's it. A short story of how Mak let me roam free :P . And yesterday, I wore the new doll kurung for our Dean's list ceremony. Mak had bought this kain last year but I only had the time to sew it during the last mid semester break.
Okayla. Not bad la. For my first attempt in doing something beside baju kurung, dresses and blouses.

My parachute of the semester.
Fly Anis, fly !

Both Nana and Mayra wanted me to make a pair of this dolly kurung for each of them. Well, Nana had requested it before but I kept on saying no because I was still scared. Somehow, yesterday I said, "Okay fine. Let's buy kain."
They suddenly got all jumpy and screaming, Nana immediately Google for cloth store in Penang. Oh my lord. People . Staaahhhp. Staahhpp. Gaaahh. These people la kan. Selalu over excited. Shouldn't have said yes. I am back to being scared again.

Graduating First Year

Semester break this time happens in a whiz. I swear it feels like it was only yesterday when my parents came to pick me in Penang ! Then there's the Ramadhan , Raya and three weeks ago, I was enrolled into sewing class. I got no time to finish my drama series as I have long planned (since the very beginning of last semester ! God bless me) for now Mak and Abah can always find me sitting in front of the sewing machine . My sewing teacher should be proud of this student. Very diligent la this one haha.

I started with zero knowledge , no basic at all , didn't even know how to set up the thread into the machine and today, I have sewn a good numbers of dresses. Honestly, the class did me a huge unreturned favour. With the financial crisis these days and with me (my problems with buying clothes and so on :P we all have this one problem, don't we haha) , the skills that I have learned might become handy in the future. InsyaaAllah.

This place is PKWK (Pusat Kemahiran Wanita Kelantan) , if you happen to live in Kelantan , you might as well as browse for the office around your place. Some places offer baking and cooking classes and some places offer sewing classes .

the 'destroyed' kurung

It all happened a couple of weeks ago *sobbing hysterically*

If you had been reading this blog since last year , you'll know that I'm fond of sewing beads on my kurung. Most of them had beads sewn.

So weeks ago , while most people were so busy leaving me to scatter at home , I literally found myself snuggling in the wardrobes. #abuseddaughter
My compartment seriously needed urgent help and after minutes of watching , staring and slo-mo scratch , the hideous compartment was eventually transformed into the most organized one . I is no more sad :D I is happy and satisfied. Headbanging .
Okay , not yet the main story of the post .

Thing is , I found this very nice kurung that I haven't wear . Not even once . And heh , like most ladies , the spirit was rocketing . Ye know , that one feeling when you always have nothing to wear , and suddenly you found this very nice top you haven't wear and you modified it a lil bit . Yeah that kind of spark . The I-can-be-a-designer-too smile with jerky eyebrow .
And ergo without thinking or even have the guts to try it on , I just went cray-ze ,

"Oh I still have extra beads from last year . The colour would be perfect !"

I grabbed the sewing kit and beads box, and enthusiastically started the task . Took me few tiring-eyes-almost-popped-out hours before I finished the flowers part only .

The climax of all drama (the one with all squeals and cries obviously) was when I tried the kurung on before drawing some lines to pattern the leaves . Pathetic , or yes , sadly crazy truth , it (the kurung) was waaaay above my knee T_T *squeals and dies*

After all my hard work and sweats , it was a hard pill to swallow .

Immediately gave up and restored the sewing kit and box . Lucky you whoever getting this baju.

Beads ideas for beginners

Assalamualaikum !
Dah Rejab ? Amboiiii ... skejaaaap je lagi dah nak Ramadhan .

I'm currently waiting to be enrolled into the University foundation and has been going to a few interviews. Apart from that , I have a lot (like, a lot) of time to spare.

So.... last few days, I have started gathering a few piles of clothes and hand sewn beads on them. I guess I can share some of the ideas here and on my Pinterest :)

 These are for square scarf

And these are for baju kurung's sleeves

And these are for the body. Party at the front haha lol

Not really an expert in this, just started and currently doing it for fun.
